AI, Cats, and the Art of Being Authentically Human

Updated: Apr 5

Let's talk about AI. Artificial intelligence. The thing that can write a blog post, design a logo, answer your emails, and apparently also generate a very convincing picture of a cat wearing a graduation cap. (We've seen it. It's impressive. We're not sure how we feel about it.) 🐾

AI is everywhere right now, and it's moving fast. Faster than a cat who just heard the treat bag open. And like most things that move that fast, it comes with both incredible possibilities and some genuinely important questions worth sitting with.

The Good Stuff First

AI is genuinely useful. As a small business owner running Cattytude from Buchanan, Saskatchewan, I can tell you that tools that help with writing, organizing, and problem-solving are a gift. Not everyone has a full team. Sometimes it's just you, your cat, your coffee, and a to-do list that never ends. If AI can help with the heavy lifting on some of that — great.

AI can help you brainstorm. It can help you draft. It can help you organize your thoughts when your brain feels like a browser with forty-seven tabs open. Used well, it's a tool — like a really fast calculator, or a very patient assistant who never needs a lunch break.

But Here's the Thing About Authenticity

Cattytude exists because of a very specific, very human voice. Bold. Unapologetic. Faith-forward. Cat-obsessed. That voice didn't come from an algorithm. It came from a real person with real convictions, a real love of cats, and a real belief that you can be exactly who God made you to be — and build a business around it.

AI can mimic a voice. It can approximate a tone. But it can't replace the thing that makes Cattytude Cattytude — the genuine, lived experience of someone who actually believes "Meow and Amen!" with their whole heart. That's not something you can generate. That's something you live.

And that's actually the most important thing to remember as AI becomes more and more present in our lives: the things that make you irreplaceable are the things that are most deeply, most specifically, most unapologetically you. Your faith. Your humor. Your perspective. Your story. No AI has that. Only you do.

The Faith Perspective

From a faith standpoint, we believe that human beings are made in the image of God — creative, relational, and uniquely valuable. AI is a tool made by humans. It's impressive. It's useful. But it is not a replacement for the image-bearing, soul-having, cat-loving human being reading this right now.

Use the tools. Be wise about them. But never let any tool — AI or otherwise — convince you that your authentic voice, your genuine creativity, and your real-life cattitude are anything less than irreplaceable.

Because they are. You are. And so is your cat, probably. 🐾

Stay bold. Stay human. Stay faithful. Meow and Amen! 🐾
