BBig Cat Rescue began in 1992 with the rescue of a single bobcat named Windsong and grew into a leading force for wild cat protection. It helped pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act in 2022, ending private ownership and cub petting of big cats in the U.S. The remaining cats now live at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge while the organization funds global in-situ conservation projects to keep wild cats free in their natural habitats.
