Pallas's cat (manul) is a small wild feline of Central Asian steppes and grasslands. Stocky with short legs and very dense fur for cold winters, it has a flat face and low ears. A nocturnal hunter of pikas, rodents, and birds, it is solitary and elusive across Mongolia, China, and Russia.
